What CSV format does QuickBooks Online accept?
Choose the QuickBooks layout before downloading. It gives a 3-column CSV (Date, Description, Amount) with dates as MM/DD/YYYY and money out as negative amounts. Then use QuickBooks Online’s bank-transaction file upload to import it. RowSmith is not affiliated with Intuit or QuickBooks.
Can I import older statements that my bank feed doesn't cover?
Yes, if you have the PDF. The converter reads any text-based statement PDF you have saved, whatever its date, and you can import the CSV into your app. How far back you can download statements depends on your bank.
Are debits and credits split into separate columns?
In the standard layout, every transaction gets one signed Amount column, with money out as negative numbers, plus a Balance column when the statement has one. Choose the YNAB layout if you want separate Outflow and Inflow columns.
Does it work with QuickBooks Desktop?
The tool makes CSV and Excel files only. It doesn’t create QBO, QFX or IIF files, which QuickBooks Desktop often needs for bank imports. You can still open the CSV or Excel file and work with it in a spreadsheet. RowSmith is not affiliated with Intuit or QuickBooks.
Why does the first Excel download load a file?
The first time you download Excel, the page loads our spreadsheet library from this same site. No statement data is sent; your file is still read and converted only in your browser.
